Youth Programming

Our Preschool and Youth Programs are designed to provide children with opportunities to develop new skills, engage in enrichment programs and activities, build positive relationships with their peers, and embark on creative adventures. We offer a wide variety of programs from Before and After Care clubs to day camps, and more.

Follow Skaneateles Community Center on LinkedIn to learn more about new programs, youth events, and community-building at our center.

Preschool

Preschool is for our little learners, ages 2-4, to begin their educational journey through play and hands on experiences. They’ll engage in traditional learning concepts, art and music, and physical movement including weekly swim and gymnasium time.

Two-year olds can look forward to circle and story time, singing songs, dramatic play, and more!

Three-year olds will focus on a “learning through play” philosophy, where teachers approach developmental learning using discovery, choices problem solving, and exploration. They’ll enjoy weekly learn to skate, art, science, music, outdoor play, and more.

Four-year olds will continue their growth in the basic skills of learning while preparing for the continued socialization and structure that they will need in their next level of learning in Kindergarten.

School-Aged Children

This program offers children a safe setting for before and/or after school care. In the morning, children can engage in individual or group games and activities, play in the gymnasium, outdoors, or on the ice.

In the afternoon, children can swim twice per week, ice skate, play in the gymnasium or outside, read, or engage in group games or challenges. There is also time for homework and free play.

Children should bring their own snacks to SACC. This program is licensed by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services and as such, maintains training in 10 areas of program development. The Skaneateles Central School bus picks children up in the morning and returns them in the afternoon.

Pre-School Summer Day Camps - Ages 2 - 4

Preschool summer day camps are half-day camps from 9:00 am-12 noon for children ages 2 – 4. Each week offers a special theme, and our camps provide rich indoor and outdoor experiences that promote movement, play, socialization, age-appropriate development and fun! Our campers participate in activities that utilize all aspects of our facility, such as aquatics, Ice skating rinks, gymnasium, and outdoor spaces to build and strengthen our campers’ physical abilities which in turn strengthens their base for academic learning.
