Ice Programming
The William G. Allyn and Duke Schneider Ice Arenas at Skaneateles Community Center offer open and group ice skating programs at one of two NHL-sized indoor ice-skating rinks. Learn more about programs and member benefits for all ages and skill levels, including:
- Hockey lessons for adults and kids, including skill and speed training.
- Figure skating lessons and learn to skate programs.
- Outside hockey clinics and training
- Ice rink rental for birthday parties and special events
- Special Olympics ice-skating program, Peter’s Ice Angels
- Open ice skating and special community events, year round

4 game minimum
3- 15-minute periods, officiated by certified refs

$950 per team, deposit $250 to secure spot

Open Skate
During Open Skate, individuals can skate freely. It’s a great opportunity to have fun with friends and family, exercise, and build your skate skills.
* General Public: $15 per person or $35 per family household. Skating Admission includes helmet, rental skates, and access to Aquatics and Fitness Center.

Skate & Shoot
Improve your overall speed, accuracy, and confidence on the ice with Skate & Shoot drills. These sessions are ideal for hockey players who want to improve their technique.
All individuals are required to wear a helmet with face mask and gloves. Games are not available to play during Skate & Shoot but nets will be available.
Open Freestyle
Open Freestyle offers space for Figure Skaters to further develop their skills, practice routines, and express creativity.
*No instruction is provided during Open Freestyle.

Adult Open Hockey
Enjoy fun and competitive skating to develop your hockey skills through competitive pick-up games and tournaments.
USA Learn to Skate: Group Lessons
Build your skate skills in our Learn to Skate sessions, offered several times throughout the year. Led by instructors of the Skaneateles Figure Skating Club and USA Learn to Skate, individuals will learn the basics of skating and fundamental techniques to build upon. Skaters ages 3 and up are encouraged to join!
Adult Learn to Skate
Our adult skating instruction provides a supportive, safe, and fun learning environment that is designed to cater to all skill levels. Build focus, coordination, and technique with help from the Skaneateles Figure Skating Club.
Special Olympics Ice-Skating Program
Peter’s Ice Angels, started by a member of the Skaneateles Community Center, Arlene Bloomer, in memory of her son, Peter Bloomer, is an ice program that meets from November-February and is coached by Special Olympics Coach, Kathy Long.

Ice Reservations:
To rent ice time please E-mail your request to Director, Matt Major.
Prime–Time Rates:
SCC- Members: $195 per hour
General Public: $210 per hour
Non-Prime Time Rates:
SCC Members: $165 per hour
General Public: $175 per hour
Definition of Non-Prime-Time Hours:
- Any days after 10:00pm
- Mondays thru Fridays 6:00am to 4:45pm (rate not available during school breaks)
- All days between 6:00am to 7:30am
Ice Rental Policies:
The ice will be resurfaced at the BEGINNING of your scheduled time and must be factored into your total reservation. Example: If you are looking to be on the ice for 1 hour then you will be required to rent 1.25 hour to take inconsideration of the ice cut.
Cancellations must be reported a minimum of 21 days prior to any booking to avoid payment. FULL payment is due otherwise.
Private instruction is not permitted during skate & shoot or open skate sessions unless the instructor is a SCC staff and player has paid and registered at the front desk.
